Customer Review: Had to cancel…
Had to cancel because of the delivery time, I was in a short trip to US. Nevertheless, great service and perfect refund.
Customer Review: Slow. Very Slow.
I had a Palm TX for 2 years, and loved it. But it died. The only additional functionality I wanted in a newer device was ability to play the Windows Media format, since most radio stations will only stream in that format. Unfortunately I bought, and had to return, the Asus A626. It ran extremely slow. I’ve seen other Windows Mobile devices in the store that run fast enough. But not this dog. Worst of all, it wouldn’t play a WMA stream from a major radio station (CKLW), nor would it play any Shoutcast streams. I just bought a new Palm TX.

Customer Review: This works–wireless doesn’t
We bought this after trying a LaCrosse Technology wireless unit. The LaCrosse unit was always off by 2 to 5 degrees when measured against a calibrated thermometer of known accuracy. Then it stopped working altogether about a year after we bought it.
Wireless units are becoming popular–but the older, physically connected, wired sensor units like this one WORK and are ACCURATE.
The large display makes reading the unit from across the room possible. The light on the display is a nice extra touch if you need or want to read it at night without turning on the room lights. It is easy to reset the max/min temperature memory. Does what it is intended to do without too many extra bells, whistles, techno-wow, blinkylights and eye candy. No nonsense functionality–HOOORRAAAHH!
Customer Review: Dead batteries!
This product deserves 0 stars!! It drains batteries in a matter of days! I put brand new batteries in it twice and both times they went dead with in 3 to 5 days!!!!!! Horrible product!

Maps are quite useful, and there are all sorts of Web sites that offer maps and driving directions to a variety of places. However, the best map is not particularly helpful if you take a wrong turn somewhere and suddenly do not know where you are. Or how to get back to where you should be. This is where the Global Positioning System (GPS) comes in.
GPS was developed originally for the military. It dates back to the 1980s. But it is widely used among civilians now, and more cars are coming equipped with GPS systems. This is because the system uses satellites and triangulation to help determine where you are. Two satellites read your signal from the ground, and then the data is crunched to determine your exact location. Many GPS systems are advanced enough that you can let it know a destination, and then it can provide you with directions on how to get there. Some cars come with GPS systems programmed to talk, so that you can have audible directions like “turn left onto 3rd Street.”
But GPS isn’t just for driving. Many hikers use their GPS in tandem with their maps to help them stay on track. This is especially helpful in wilderness areas and backcountry, where there aren’t always clearly marked trails. But in such cases it is also important to have an actual map. Because even though GPS can be helpful, the fancier systems that do more than give you a location can be very expensive. And good map knowledge is always helpful due to the fact that GPS has its limitations.
First of all, if you can’t get the signals from two satellites, the GPS is useless. This is because two satellites are needed to triangulate your position. In some areas, the satellite signal might be blocked by trees, mountains, or other obstacles. Another thing you have to worry about is battery power. A GPS will not just run indefinitely. Eventually it will run out of juice. Most GPS are rechargeable, but if you are out in the middle of nowhere, without a charger, the GPS is useless. When spending extended time in the wilderness or backpacking, it is a good idea only to your GPS occasionally, to check your position and plot it out on the map.
A fun twist on using GPS for recreation is what is known as geocaching. Someone hides something unique and distinct somewhere, often a clue to the next location. You use a map and a GPS to find the location and get the next clue. Valuables are usually not part of this sort of activity. However, many people find it intriguing, challenging, and fun to head out armed with a map and a GPS to “discover” something. These geocaching groups are rising in popularity, and can be found just about anywhere in the world.
While GPS is certainly useful, it does not appear that it will completely replace maps anytime really soon. But it makes an excellent complement and help to any map.

Customer Review: NUVI 200 POWER CORD
The product came quickly and was as ordered. It works so thats good. Supplier followed up to make sure I was happy.
Customer Review: not necceary for a new unit
I bought the car adapter, but just remember that the gps comes with one. So it’s not absolutely necessary to buy this. My only comment is that the cord is rather stiff, making it difficult to use. Otherwise, functionally, it’s fine.

Customer Review: Great Device
Works great. Easy to attach the GPS and easy to memove it. Stays in place when set down on the dash. Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Bad advertising & worse service
The items arrived quickly, but not as advvertised. The “bean bag” came with a window mount and not with the mount needed for the bag. I wrote to the company and they told me that the best I could do is get a refund.
GPS [global positioning system] is a worldwide radio-navigation system formed from the constellation of 24 satellites and their ground stations. It is a system mainly used to locate the user’s position at a time. Although GPS was originally intended for military applications, but now it is mainly used in marine, location-based services and terrestrial navigation. GPS can work for 24 hours in any type of weather condition, irrespective of sun and rain.
Working of GPS system
GPS works in a wonderful way. The GPS satellite circles the earth twice a day in a precise orbit and transmits signal information to earth. GPS receivers take into this information and use “triangulation method” to calculate the user’s exact location. The meaning of “triangulation” is receiving radio signals from a distance. Along with knowing the distance, you also need to know exactly the position of the satellites in space. This is done with the help of high orbits and carefully monitoring the instruments for locating the satellites. Finally you also need to correct any type of delays that the signal can experience as it has to travel for a long distance through the atmosphere.
Importance of GPS system
GPS is important as it helps you to figure out where you are and where you are going when you are traveling from one place to another. Navigation and positioning are important but cumbersome activities, which GPS makes it easier. Once GPS locates your position, then it starts tracing other factors like speed, bearing, tracks, trip distance, sunrise/sunset time, distance to destination and several other details. GPS uses “man-made” stars as reference points to calculate positions accurate to a matter of meters. However, with recent forms of GPS you can make measurements much better than centimeter readings. So it is with the aid of GPS that you can give a unique and specified address to every square meter on the planet.
You can get GPS services without any subscription fees and set up charges. So these days GPS finds its way into cars, planes, boats, construction equipments, farm machinery, laptop computers and movie making gears.
Modern GPS systems
With the world advancing rapidly everyday, there are recently discovered Newer Garmin GPS receivers with WAAS [Wide Area Augmentation System] that can improve the quality and accuracy of location of any one at any time. Although no additional equipment is required, yet users get the advantage of Differential GPS [DGPS] to get correct signals within the distance of three to five meters.
So use GPS systems to get the maximum benefits of modern technology.
